The army is not what I expected. It's been tough and it's even tougher to be away from home. I'm often very discouraged and sometimes quite depressed. I miss my friends and family and I look forward to when I will be able to go back home.

It is interesting to see a different country and meet new people. I've met a girl here and it's amazing to see both our differences and our similarities. So much is the same and so much is different, too.

I'd really like to hear from people at home. It would sure help with the lonliness. Write if you can.
